  • INDIA'S Longest rail cum bridge at Bogibeel near Dibrugarh will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 25th December. The 4.94 km long bridge has two railway lines at its lower deck and a three line road on the top . The foundation stone for the Bogibeel bridge was laid by former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in 2002 . The bridge will connect dibrugarh in Assam to Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh .
  • Poet Sananta Tanti ( Assamese ) and Rituraj Basumatary ( Bodo) have been chosen for the Sahitya Akademi Awards 2018 which were announced in 24 languages. Sananta Tanti won award for poetry collection Kailor Dintu Amar Hobo. Rituraj Basumatary bagged the award for short story collection 'Dwngse Lama' 
  • Podi Barbi festival , the annual harvest festival of Boh-Ramo-Bokar ( Adi)community of Arunachal Pradesh was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety.
