  • The first Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS) in government sector in the North East was inaugurated at the Pollution Control Board, Assam (PCBA) headquarters.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday 24th September 2018 dedicated Sikkim’s first airport at Pakyong to the nation.
  • Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari dedicated to the nation the Jowai-Ratacherra (Meghalaya-Assam border) National Highway project. The Jowai-Ratacherra Highway is a section of NH-44. The 102.25 km road project commenced in December 2015 and completed in May this year ahead of its scheduled completion at the cost of Rs 683 crore.
  • Rajdeep Bhattacharya won the Mr Kamrup title of NABBA/WFF during the Mr Assam contest.
  • Tiger Woods scored his first victory in more than five years on Sunday, completing a two-shot win at the Tour Championship to crown a fairy tale comeback after a near two-year absence. The 42-year-old, 14-time major winner carded a one-over-par 71 at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Course to claim the 80th title of his glittering career.
  • Europe retained their Laver Cup tennis crown on Sunday as Alexander Zverev defeated Kevin Anderson to complete a 13-8 win over the World team. Germany’s Zverev came from a set down to complete a 6-7 (3/7), 7-5, 10-7 win over Anderson as the Europeans successfully defended the title won in Prague last year.
