  1. Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated the Digital Information Nerve Centre at the State Cancer Institute (SCI) that will link the cancer care set-ups of the State with cancer hospitals of the Tatas in Mumbai and Kolkata. The centre was inaugurated in the presence of Tata Trusts chairman Ratan Tata.
  2. Indian bygone era in football over the years. India won the Asian Games football gold in 1951, again in 1962 and came fourth in the Melbourne Olympics in 1956.
  3. Mahendra Saharia, an octogenarian folk artiste and an exponent of ‘Ojapali’ died at his Neogpara residence in Darrang district on Saturday after a brief illness. He was 82.
